Hexacopter Drone is an unmanned aerial vehicle with flexible flight performance advantages such as vertical lift and hovering, so it has better applicability than fixed-wing (VTOL) UAV in some environments.
It provides lift through three sets of six motors placed coaxially up and down, and adjusts the flight attitude by changing the rotor speed. It has the advantages of excellent hovering performance, flexible movement, compact mechanical structure, and high reliability of parts.
During the exercise, the six-rotor UAV has successively completed such subjects as vertical uplift, fixed-point hovering, manual flight, and preset route flight, load test of hanging bomb, and bomb strike test, and various performance indicators have met the requirements. Hexacopters will be more suitable for working in dangerous and harsh environments. It will have broad application prospects in both military and civilian fields.
The six-rotor UAV is similar to the quad-rotor UAV, and the six propellers are distributed at the vertices of the hexagon. The six propeller speeds are used as six input forces, and the positions of six degrees of freedom are used as output. The six propellers of the six-rotor UAV rotate in different directions, and the attitude and position of the UAV can be changed by changing the propeller speed.
Compared with the four-rotor UAV, the six-rotor UAV has two redundant rotors, which can show better stability and tracking when encountering strong external force interference or some rotors are disturbed.
The control system of the six-rotor UAV is the key to ensure its stable performance, so the research on the control system of the six-rotor UAV is particularly important, and the six-rotor UAV will be more suitable for working in dangerous and harsh environments. It will have a broader application prospect in both military and civilian fields.
